Missionaries

MISSIONARIES

Career missionaries are those who serve overseas in various ministry roles for at least one year. globalX supports and helps to fund Americans going overseas as well as indigenous workers in their countries. The majority of our missionaries are aligned with one of our key strategy areas. We currently work with 40 missionaries in 20 countries.

We partner with missionary applicants and their mission agency to determine a fit and to offer advice during their service. We continually evaluate those we support based on alignment and their effectiveness.

Selection Process: Applicants go through an extensive screening process to assist them in determining their next steps as they pursue life as a career missionary. A globalX staff member is assigned to educate, counsel, and lead applicants through this process.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a member of a North Point Ministries campus.
  2. Direction consistent with one of our key strategies.
  3. Skill set and giftedness that fit the assignment.

Support Process:

  1. Interview scheduled with a designated globalX staff member.
  2. Complete:
    1. “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement.” (15-week course– http://perspectives-atlanta.org)
    2. TEAM “EXPLORE Workshop” – career missionary assessment: http://www.teamworld.org/Resources/explore.asp
    3. Complete Missionary Candidate Application Part I and supporting documents.
    4. Application reviewed by globalX staff.
    5. Additional interviews conducted by staff:
      1. globalX Director
      2. 2-4 globalX staff
      3. Additional resource people, as needed
      4. Complete Missionary Candidate Application Part II. Update Part I if needed.
      5. Decision made by globalX staff.
      6. Missionary candidate to be notified of decision.
