Venezuela Children's Outreach
Dates: Jun 05, 2010–Jun 13, 2010
Cost: $2,800
Application Deadline: Jan 19, 2010
Trip Summary:
This team will partner with Jonas Project, a ministry of Good News Church in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Jonas Project’s mission is to rescue children who are orphaned, abandoned, or homeless. Due to poverty and parental drug addiction, the abandonment of children is a major social problem in Venezuela and other countries in central and South America. Jonas Project provides educational, recreational and spiritual development programs to meet the needs of the many children they serve. Our team will work with the staff and volunteers of Jonas Project to impact the many children influenced by this ministry.
Qualifications:
We are looking for people who enjoy working with children. Any experience in recreation, spiritual development, and educational programs for children ages 6 to 15 will be beneficial for this trip. If you have children 10 and over, this would be a great opportunity to expose them to the challenges and needs that children of other cultures face. We have learned that this has a meaningful and long-lasting impact in the lives of both the parents and the children who participate in this kind of mission trip.
